Mangrove ecosystems provide one of the world’s most cost-effective yet undervalued nature-based climate solutions. This coastal vegetation stores 4 times more carbon than land forests; they also protect coastlines from flooding, support aquatic biodiversity, and filter water from pollutants. Supported by the UBS Optimus Foundation, Earth Security have launched the M40 Initiative, designed to enable mangrove restoration and conservation at scale by identifying good projects, enabling capital flow, and delivering benefits for climate, community and conservation.
